Stephanie Houser

Stephanie is currently serving as a John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellow in the United States House of Representatives, advising on science, energy, and environmental policy. She is also pursuing a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Iowa in the United States. She received a BA International Relations and a BSc Civil Engineering from Bucknell University and a MSc Environmental Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Stephanie specialises in water and wastewater treatment, but her doctoral work looks specifically at the exposure mechanisms and resulting health impacts for children from break downs in water and sanitation infrastructure in developing countries. She also works with STEM education programs in local schools especially promoting careers and opportunities for women.
