We interview the National Grid engineer and EY’s Energy UK Young Energy Professional of the Year 2015

After getting her first taste of engineering at Scottish Space School, Susan McDonald has pursued her passion and moved from strength to strength in the engineering sector. In her current role as Strategic Wider Works Submissions Manager for National Grid, Susan develops and leads on the regulatory submissions to justify National Grid’s investment decisions and the associated spend required for a new transmission circuit in the South West of England. Earlier this year, she was awarded the EY Energy UK Young Energy Professional of the Year, which recognises committed individuals who have demonstrated great potential as future leaders in the energy industry.

We were delighted when Susan agreed to sit down with the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering and share some of her thoughts and insights about the industry.
