Mark James
As CTO of Beyond Limits, Mark leads a team with many JPL scientists to solve complex problems for companies on earth. He has developed bio-inspired AI systems that mimic human brain functions to provide reasoning that exceeds conventional AI approaches such as machine learning, neural networks, or deep learning.
While working for NASA, Mark designed SHINE (Spacecraft Health Inference Engine), a software inference engine (expert system) for NASA to monitor, analyze, and diagnose real-time and non-real-time systems used in space missions to ensure spacecraft health.
The technology has been used in NASA missions including the Mars Exploration Rovers and the Spacecraft Health Automatic Reasoning Pilot (SHARP) program for the diagnosis of telecommunication anomalies during the Neptune Voyager Encounter.
