Polina Zabelina
Polina has studied chemical engineering in her hometown Omsk (Russia) and went on to become corrosion engineer. Her first job was on Sakhalin island where she was looking after the integrity of onshore plant, offshore platform and interconnecting pipelines to ensure hydrocarbons stay in the pipe and there is no harm to people or environment.
After doing 9 years in the field and earning her MSc in corrosion engineering from Manchester University whilst having a full-time job, Polina has moved to operations. She is currently operations team leader in West Nile Delta project, Egypt, where she works rotations 3 weeks at a time.
As well as QEPrize ambassador, Polina is also STEM ambassador and is mentoring couple of students via Stemettes and Arkwright engineering.
