Nandan Ambure
Finalist: 2021 QEPrize Trophy
What are you studying?
I am a 17-year-old junior college student, who is currently studying in India. I have opted for humanities and I wish to pursue a career in 3D modelling on a professional level.
What do you love about design?
I love the objective nature of design in contrast to the subjective nature of art. It allows to express myself and it is an expression who I am and what I aspire to become.
What was the inspiration behind your design?
The main inspiration behind my design was a propeller. A propeller signifies the power of rotatory motion which produces great thrust helping the vehicle in which it has been installed move forward. A trophy too, is a result of hard work and persistent effort of an individual which helps him/her move forward, thus, I thought that design of propeller would fit the best as the rotatory motion signifies persistent hard work which in both cases help move forward.
What do you want to see engineers solving in the future?
The number one problem that I think that engineers should be working on is the issue of sustainability. We need to come up with eco-friendly, nature conservative developmental ideas that benefit the humans as well as the nature. I have a firm belief that we cannot be working tomorrow if we don’t save it today!
