Aimi Elias

Aimi Elias is a Machine Learning Engineer at Sky, providing personalised content recommendations to Sky and NBCU customers for their online streaming services. In 2018 she was awarded STEM Rising Star of the Year by Forward Ladies.

Prior to her career in software engineering, Aimi worked for 6 years in the railway construction industry, working on the Elizabeth Line and various London Underground station upgrades. Her work on Crossrail Liverpool Street and Whitechapel stations helped her gain Chartership with the Institution of Civil Engineers in 2016.

Aimi earned her MEng in Civil Engineering at Imperial College London in 2010 and completed her MSc in Computer Science from Birkbeck College London in 2021. Her dissertation combined her previous engineering discipline by applying machine learning technologies to real time construction data.

As a QEPrize Ambassador, Aimi is a passionate science and engineering communicator, winning the London final of Famelab in 2015.
