About Duncan Yellowlees

Duncan here, I’m a maker and creator from Newcastle in the North East of England. Founder of DY training (a presentation skills training company) and COMMunity (a COMMs focused network for researchers), I spend my professional time helping academic researchers communicate their work effectively and engagingly.

Every other minute I can be found in a garage workshop, where I make bespoke and custom chef/kitchen knives and a variety of DIY furniture. An early education in drills, saws, glue and sawdust coupled with an engineering degree means that making is a huge part of my life, and I’m chuffed to join the other great makers in this project.
